At Ox, we don’t just talk about Safety; we live it. Our workforce includes a team of highly skilled individuals required to maintain a safety mindset each day. This mindset is vital for the safety of every team member. While practicing daily safety procedures, safety became more than just a goal for us; it is ingrained in our Culture and Operations.Â
Each year we celebrate Safety Week at every facility. We dedicate the time to acknowledging daily practices, celebrating successes, and collaborating on ways to further enhance Safety Programs. Â
The safety of ourselves and others begins with one person. We asked our team members, “Why is safety important to you?” Over the next month, as we countdown to Safety Week 2021, we will share a few of the responses we received.Â

Facility Location: Halltown
How long have you been at Ox? 1 Year
Why is safety important to you? I enjoy my life outside of work. Safety allows me to do the things I like to do.
What safety procedures do you practice? I wear a seatbelt, look in both directions of travel while walking and driving.
Can you tell us how safety has impacted you or your family’s life outside of work? 25 years ago I cut the tip of my left index finger off with a log splitter. We still talk about being on the lookout for our hands when sawing or splitting firewood.Â
Who motivates you to work safely every day? As a leader, I like to set the example so that no one who works for me thinks they have to take a risk to complete a task.Â
How do you spend your time outside of work? I enjoy quiet evenings with my wife, golfing, and getting together with my kids and grandkids as often as possible.Â
What are your hobbies? Reading
