Salary: $28.00 To $30.00 Hourly

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Responsible for supervising staff and working alongside the 2nd shift team (6:00pm-6:00am). Must be able to perform all job functions to include operating machines, hanging paper, stacking and forklift operation. The Production Supervisor position is a hands-on position requiring them to perform any position out on the production floor at any given time based on the situation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise production staff including scheduling machines/order runs and planning and assigning work.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment reliability, operating procedures, and working conditions.
- Supervise, set up and operate various equipment, including but not limited to: winding equipment, recutting equipment, balers, and forklifts.
- Work to continuously improve productivity in all areas, balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
- Eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment, and machine operations which may lead to human injury and/or property damage.
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and waste.
- Directly responsible for employee training, coaching, and discipline when necessary.
- Implement and monitor performance tracking metrics to identify Losses using Continuous Improvement models.
- Work effectively and relate well with others. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others, working to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish plant goals and objectives.
- Lead a culture of success and demonstrate that plant cleanliness is key to a safe work environment in which everyone can take pride.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures with input from General Manager and production staff, in accordance with company policies.
- Effectively collaborate with General Manager on all aspects pertaining to Production and Staffing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Working Production Supervisor-Previous experience supervising others is required. MUST have a minimum of two years in the paper or packaging industry. Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred. High School diploma or GED preferred. Less than high school education with 1 to 3 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to be on their feet for up to 12 hours per day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, with assistance if required.
