Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Reports To: General Manager, dotted line to Vice President of Human Resources
Key Internal Partners: Management team, Accounting, Production
General Purpose Of Job:
The Human Resources Manager will solely manage the day-to-day HR, labor relations, and payroll for the Carthage Mill.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for all HR functions including, but not limited to:
- Employee relations
- Labor relations
- Talent acquisition
- New Hire Orientation Process
- Safety leadership and training
- OSHA compliance
- Worker’s Compensation
- Disability, FMLA
- Time and attendance, payroll
- Benefits administration
- Records management
- Policy and procedure communication
- Training and development
This position requires a high level of professionalism at all times while maintaining a collegial and effective relationship with employees and managers at all levels. They must have a history of success managing the relationship between management, union leadership, and employees. They must be comfortable with, and are expected to, spend time on the plant floor every day.
Human Resources leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, required. Must be knowledgeable in applicable Federal, State and local regulations including but not limited to: Employment & Labor Law, Safety (OSHA), and Worker’s Compensation. Experience managing labor contracts and grievances is required.
Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as excellent interpersonal skills also required.
